Required and Recommended Equipment πŸ“Έ for the Macro Retreat

  • While ALL camera models and all macro lenses can be used for some sessions, participants will use an OM SYSTEM loaner for in-camera focus-stacking (and for live composite and other computational technologies).

  • Lenses

    • A dedicated prime MACRO lens is required for macro retreats and recommended for the nature retreats 🐸 The 60mm is a good sharp yet inexpensive lens On sale $399.99 (Ends June 1, 2025) Regularly $549.99. If you do not have any macro lens and do not want to purchase one for the nature retreat, then purchase the Nisi closeup filter below.

  • Other useful lenses: 12-100, 40-150, 100-400 II, (8-25 for landscapes). Own a 40-150f2.8, watch this video.

  • For Birding: 100-400 II, 150-600, or the 150-400

  • Camera Equipment (Required)

    • Extra camera batteries, battery charger, memory cards (You will be taking a LOT when using focus bracketing and focus stacking! so bring ALL of your cards)
